CONTEXT

A traveler’s diary

In his diary, the traveler wrote down the most important facts of the day and he often included drawings, watercolors, comments and thoughts. In fact, it was not one of the simplest tasks to make notes in a small notebook while walking (on foot, riding animals) or navigating most of the day. The notes were made in pencil, beak pencil with Chinese ink or ferrogalic inks; to color them, they used watercolor, whose solvent is water, which makes it easier to use.
